Masson CG members are regularly involved in cave and mine conservation, often in cooperation with other organisations like the Derbyshire Caving Association.

Many of the caves and especially mines in the Peak District contain roosting bats. Masson Caving Group follows the DCA Guidlines for bats underground and reports bat sightings to the Derbyshire Bat Group.
